ORGANIC FARMERS FOUNDATION TRUST was established with the vision of creating a modern common facility center for processing lemon and banana from the fertile hills of Ukhrul. It serves as the SPV for the Ukhrul Lemon & Banana Processing Cluster under the SFURTI scheme of the MoMSME, benefiting over 700 farmers. The CFC, situated at Sanrong, Kalhang village, is conveniently accessible via NH 202.
Partnering with the Partnership in Progress Mission Foundation (Implementing Agency), the Trust initiated a lemon nursery project, providing saplings to farmers at nominal prices, thereby bolstering lemon cultivation. Extensive training programs held in various villages within the cluster cover lemon and banana plantation techniques, processing methods, and tree care.
The vision is to foster increased farmer income, agricultural prosperity, and sustainable farming practices, thereby shaping a thriving agricultural landscape in Ukhrul District.
